“Jacob Elordi from Saltburn Discusses Bathtub Scene: ‘I Was Simply Thrilled When I Read That Sequence'”

Jacob Elordi shared insights about the controversial bathtub scene in Saltburn that sparked a lot of discussion.

Since Emerald Fennell’s movie released on Amazon Prime Video, people have been talking about its steamy moments. One particularly surprising scene involves Barry Keoghan’s character, Ollie, spying on Elordi’s Felix as he takes a private bath.

After Felix finishes, Ollie unexpectedly joins him in the tub, licking and drinking the water mixed with Felix’s bodily fluids before it drains away.

Elordi recently talked about his first reaction to the scene when reading the script, saying to Stream Wars, “I was just really excited when I read that scene because you don’t really see things like that in mainstream movies a lot of the time.” He added, “So it’s just great that Emerald was allowed to kind of push those boundaries and expose people like that.”

The film also includes Keoghan shedding his clothes and dancing to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dance Floor” after inheriting the Saltburn estate. Keoghan mentioned that having this scene as the finale “totally felt right.”

Reflecting on the experience of filming the revealing dance scene, Keoghan shared with EW, “The initial thing was about me having no clothes on. I’m a bit, ehhh. But after take one, I was ready to go. I was like, ‘Let’s go again. Let’s go again.’ You kind of forget, because there’s such a comfortable environment created, and it gives you that license to go, ‘All right, this is about the story now.'”
