The ‘La Casa de Papel’ spinoff, called ‘BERLIN,’ features a fantastic cast including Pedro Alonso, Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña Fernández, and Joel Sánchez.
After filming in 146 locations, 287 sets, and involving 65 actors, along with 1400 extras, the nine-month-long shooting is coming to Netflix on December 29th.
The series, shot in various places like Paris, Madrid, Almería, León, Ávila, Segovia, and Toledo, revolves around a special heist led by Pedro Alonso, reprising his role as the clever Berlin.
The new cast includes Michelle Jenner (‘Isabel’) as Keila, an electronic engineering expert; Tristán Ulloa (‘Fariña’) as Damián, a kind-hearted professor and Berlin’s friend; Begoña Vargas (‘Welcome to Eden’) as Cameron, a daring individual; Julio Peña Fernández (‘Through My Window’) as Roi, Berlin’s loyal companion; and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the action man in the gang. Itziar Ituño (‘La casa de papel’) and Najwa Nimri (‘La casa de papel’) return as police women Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra.
Additional members of the ‘BERLIN’ cast are Samantha Siqueiros (‘Lady of Steel’), Julien Paschal (‘One Year, One Night’), Masi Rodríguez, and Rachel Lascar (‘Through My Window’).
The eight episodes, created by Álex Pina (‘La casa de papel’, ‘Sky Rojo’) and Esther Martínez Lobato (‘La casa de papel’, ‘Sky Rojo’), are written by Álex Pina, Esther Martínez Lobato, David Barrocal, David Oliva, and Lorena G. Maldonado. The series is directed by Albert Pintó (‘Sky Rojo’, ‘Malasaña 32’), David Barrocal (‘Sky Rojo’), and Geoffrey Cowper (‘Day Release’).
